Centennial Century

The Centennial Century is one of the most unique cycling events in Australia, the Centennial Century is a 12-hour endurance cycling event. The event will take place overnight starting at 6pm and finishing at 6am the following morning. The event sees teams of four and individual cyclists attempt to complete 100 laps of Centennial Park within twelve hours.

Each lap of Centennial Park is 3.8 Kilometres, meaning that teams and individuals will need to average 31.67K/ph if they wish to complete the 380 Kilometre distance in twelve hours.

To add to the unique nature of the event, the race is held under a three quarter moon and features individual pit areas for all teams and individual entrants in the Federation Valley precinct, and is electronicall timed throughout.

Centennial Park is closed to all traffic and users for this event making it a rare opportunity to participate in a controlled environment in one of Sydney's most popular cycling destinations - at night! The next Centennial Century will be held in October 2007. Visit Centennial Century website >

In October and November of 2003, Secret Life of Us star Samuel Johnson rode his unicycle 1,000 Kilometres across NSW, ACT and Victoria to raise funds and awareness for children's cancer charity CanTeen.

The Synergy Sports team was beside Samuel the whole way building a campaign and event that secured over $500,000 and achieved millions of dollars in media exposure for the event and CanTeen.

With over thirty stops along the way, the likes of Steve Moneghetti, Andrew Denton, David Campbell, Dave Hughes and Molly Meldrum lent their support to this huge event which culminated in a national grid documentary and telethon airing on Network Ten!

Simpson Desert Cycle Challenge

On a good day in the Simpson Desert the temperature will rise from below 5 Degrees Celsius to above 45 Degrees Celsius. Winds and sandstorms traveling over 50 Km/H only add to the experience! Throw in over five hundred sand dunes, wild camels and foxes, never ending salt pans and no food, water or civilisation in sight and the Simpson Desert is a wild place.

Add to the mix around thirty intrepid cyclists who will cover 580 Kilometres across the Simpson Desert in four and a half days and you have the most amazing adventure race in Australia! Synergy Sports produced the Simpson Desert Cycle challenge from 2002 to 2005.

In 2002, Synergy Sports helped the John Maclean Foundation launch nationally with the conduct of the Kilometres for Kids ride from Brisbane to Melbourne.

Over thirty days, wheelchair athlete extraordinaire John Maclean handcycled down the East coast of Australia raising over $400,000 for his official charity and bringing joy to thousands of children along the way.
